The Facilities at the Eduplex

Special provision has been made in the Eduplex to provide training opportunities in an ideal environment for teachers, speech therapists / audiologists and students in training. Closed circuit TV cameras offer learning opportunities for students, staff, parents and visitors in the specially equipped training centre, without any unnecessary classroom interruption.

Classroom design

Classrooms have been acoustically treated. The classroom areas are planned to initiate creative thinking and to plan innovative ideas. Ample space provides freedom of movement, and in the Eduplex the garden forms part of the extended classroom.

Educational gardens

For pre-school children work is play and the Eduplex has taken this idea very seriously. The mild Pretoria climate offers an ideal opportunity to give children the chance to develop an appreciation for nature all year round (seasonal changes) and a responsible attitude towards animals. The children are encouraged to interact with one another, with staff, and with nature, including animals.

The outside play area and gardens are specifically designed to provide language learning opportunities. The spacious gardens include active and passive recreational areas.
