During the opening of Eduplex by former President Nelson Mandela, Mr Mandela said that at Eduplex, “tragedy is changed into triumph”, and this is exactly what Eduplex stands for. If you would like to open a new door to a deaf child, please consider the Foundation for Children with a Hearing Loss in Southern Africa. The Foundation is tremendously grateful to those supporters who have already done so, and all amounts over R25 000 (annual fee per child) will be recorded on the donors board in the school. Without the generosity and vision of its supporters, the Foundation would not be able to continue with its work.
There are many ways to honour a memory. For example, instead of buying flowers for a funeral, you can make a donation to the Foundation. You could also make a once-off contribution or you could make a donation on a regular basis – for instance to commemorate the birthday of a loved one or even an anniversary.
Currently there are 531 children at Eduplex, of whom 82 are deaf. Of these 82 deaf children, more than 50 percent are fully dependent on bursaries and many more are on the waiting list for sponsorships.
